Guinness World Records Video Game for Wii is seriously underrated and is a real barrel of laughs! This game is packed with 36 mini-games that are perfect for playing multiplayer. From a fitness standpoint, many of the games have you ‘run’, ‘throw’, ‘push’, ‘pedal’ and more with the Wiimote and Nunchuck, so there’s plenty of action to get your heart pumping. heart. There are also some really difficult precision games that require expert hand-eye coordination to break records. My favorite has to be the ‘Most Toppled Dominos’ record game! Today I want to share some how-tos with you so that you can get the most fun action in gaming. On-screen instructions are visual only and can be a bit confusing at times. So here’s a guide to my favorite mini-games in Guinness World Records The Video game:
clue: Minigames are grouped by location in groups of 3. The first game is free; the second game will need to be unlocked with 1000 points, and the second game (usually the most fun) with 5000 points. To earn points, you will need to get high scores in the ‘free’ games. If you get a ‘Guinness World Record’ you will usually be awarded more than 1000 points. Then you will simply have to click on the game to unlock it. The game will tell you if you need to accumulate more points. Good luck breaking those records!
Minigames Group 1 FREE – Fastest time to shear 5 sheep. You will use the Wiimote as your shepherd’s staff to catch the sheep. Point to the screen, place the cursor on a sheep and press IN to catch your sheep. So your Wiimote will control an electrical machine. you will have to press IN again and move the visor over the body of the sheep to shave it. quick tip – Try to hold the Wiimote at an angle to cover most of the ‘wool’ while shaving with the visor. Aim to shave each sheep with just three hits.
UNLOCK 1000 POINTS – land speed record. Hold the Wiimote horizontally. Gently tilt the Wiimote up and down to move your rocket from side to side as speed increases. The object of the game is to avoid any obstacle that slows you down. This game seems easy at first, but as soon as the pace picks up, you will have more obstacles in your way. Do not crash!
UNLOCK 5000 POINTS – Fastest time to push a truck 50 meters. Move the Wiimote and Nunchuck down in time with the on-screen arrows to get “push power”. Try to get a ‘Great’ or ‘Nice’ popup on the screen. Then have your avatar race to the finish line by frantically waving the Nunchuck and Wiimote up and down in an alternating motion.
Minigames Group 2 FREE – The longest (big) nails! Use the Wiimote as a pointer to trace your fingernails along the wibbly lines. This will make it grow later. Be careful not to go too fast or too slow as the nails could break! You will get 5 tests, one for each finger and one for the thumb.
UNLOCK 1000 POINTS – Paper airplane precision. ‘Throw’ your paper airplane forward by holding the Wiimote like a dart and making a sharp movement forward. Then, tilt the Wiimote gently from side to side and down to insert it into all three barrels.
quick tip – The harder you ‘throw’ the paper plane with the Wiimote, the faster it goes. This is good if you can be really precise with your aim. If not, try to throw it more gently at first until you’re a pro.
UNLOCK 5000 POINTS – Fastest time to catch a ton of fish. I think it’s easier to play this game if you hold the Nunchuck in your writing hand. ‘Throw’ your rod by moving the Wiimote in a forward motion. Then “hook” your fish by jerking the Wiimote up when prompted by the on-screen diagram. Next, reel in your fish by moving the Nunchuck around and around as if you were really reeling. You will now see some arrows on the screen while you are fishing. This indicates the direction in which you should move your Wiimote while fishing with the Nunchuck. If you do it right, you will be able to fish faster! Good luck!
Minigames Group 3 FREE – Most crushed melons in 1 minute. This is a really simple game, but a lot of fun! Simply move the Wiimote down when you want your avatar to hit the melons. Now you can see your avatar headbutt the melons! The more melons you smash, the faster they will come, so be careful!
UNLOCK 1000 POINTS – jump higher on a pogo stick. ‘Jump’ holding the Wiimote sideways with both hands like handlebars and move the Wiimote up. You will have to jump at just the right moment to gain additional height. Keep an eye out for the arrows on the ground and try to jump when they turn green. Aim for ‘Excellent’. Now repeat jumping in a pattern of 3 when prompted by the on-screen instructions and see where you get on the height meter!
UNLOCK 5000 POINTS – Most arrows caught in one minute. In this game, Wiimote and Nunchuck control hands. Move the controllers left and right to catch the arrows that are flying towards you. This sounds easy, but it really isn’t. If you miss an arrow, you will be penalized for a short time and the offending hand will not move.
quick tip – This game is all about time. To get the timing right, try looking at the bottom left and bottom right of the screen to ‘catch’ the arrows at just the right time.
Minigames Group 4 FREE – Highest score in video games. Point your Wiimote at the screen and press IN on your Wiimote to shoot the approaching ships.
UNLOCK 1000 POINTS – The fastest 100m in a space hopper. ‘Jump’ by holding the Wiimote and Nunchuck upright and pulling up. Jump at the right time, waiting until the arrows on the ground turn green. This will give you more speed if you get an ‘Excellent’! Go for that record!
UNLOCK 5000 POINTS – faster rocket. First, shake the Wiimote up and down to power the rocket engines. Then, press A on the Wiimote when the countdown reaches zero to launch the rocket. Now the Wiimote controls the hand. Click the colored buttons on the control panel of the rockets when they light up. Be quick, or your game is over!
Minigames Group 5 FREE – BMX highest jump. When the bike is on the ramp, pedal as fast as you can by moving the Wiimote and Nunchuck as if your hands were your feet on the pedals. Get a high jump on the BMX by moving the Wiimote and Nunchuck up as the bike leaves the ramp.
UNLOCK 1000 POINTS – longest motorcycle jump. Hold the Wiimote and Nunchuck sideways with your hands as if you were holding the handlebars of a bicycle. Tilt the Wiimote sharply towards you when the bike’s engine revs up to the blue beam on the speedometer. Aim for ‘Excellent’. When the bike is airborne, move the Wiimote and Nunchuck up in quick succession to keep the on-screen arrow in the center position. Now see how far you can go!
UNLOCK 5000 POINTS – The fastest tightrope of 50 meters. Hold the Nunchuck in your left hand and the Wiimote in your right hand. Make sure your arms are extended so the cable between the controllers is straight. This game is all about balance, so try to keep your Wiimote and Nunchuck as straight as possible to prevent your character from falling off the rope! Press Z on the Nunchuck and B on the Wiimote to move the avatar’s feet. Good luck!
Minigames Group 6 FREE – Longest balance of a vehicle on your head. This game is played only with the Wiimote. Hold your Wiimote horizontally and tilt it gently for your avatar to balance the bus! Try to make small adjustments so you don’t lose control and go off screen!
UNLOCK 1000 POINTS – Farthest Throw of a Cow Pat. This game is played only with the Wiimote. Swing the beret around the avatar’s head in a lasso motion with the Wiimote. Press B to drop the cow onto the field at just the right time.
UNLOCK 5000 POINTS – Most knocked down dominoes. This is definitely MY FAVORITE. This game is played only with the Wiimote. Hold the Wiimote horizontally and tilt it from side to side to move across the track and knock down all the dominoes. press the D-pad gold 2 on the Wiimote when you run over them to knock over the extra dominoes to the side. Remember to press left or right as indicated on the hint.
