Instructors at Pilates Classes in East Sheen

Unlike other group fitness classes which can be taken with a basic level of instructor, Pilates instructors need to go through a much more rigorous training process before they are able to teach. This involves full time training over a period of several months and the passing of a number of written and practical exams. This takes a lot of commitment, effort and money so it is one of the reasons why Pilates instructors tend to be more expensive than many group fitness instructors.

She decided to turn this passion into a career and qualified as a Body Control Pilates Mat work teacher in July 2021. She continues to attend workshops and professional development classes to keep up with current trends and techniques.

One of the distinguishing features of Pilates is its emphasis on mindful movement. Unlike traditional forms of exercise that prioritize brute force, Pilates encourages practitioners to cultivate a deep connection between mind and body. Through focused breathing techniques and precise movements, participants learn to engage muscles with intention, fostering a sense of awareness that extends beyond the studio walls.

In East Sheen’s Pilates class, mindfulness is not just a buzzword; it’s a guiding principle woven into every session. As participants flow through a series of exercises, they are encouraged to stay present, to listen to their bodies, and to honor their limits. This mindful approach not only enhances the efficacy of the workout but also instills a sense of tranquility that permeates every aspect of life.
