How to build a tiled hot tub

Rather than buying pre-made ceramic hot tubs at the store, which often cost a lot of money, some people prefer built-in tile tubs. This is a great idea for anyone who wants a more custom look for their bathtub.

Before considering this project, make sure you have the resources and the hands that can help you make this a dream come true. Find the right area where you are going to place it. A secluded area away from the eyes of the neighbors is a good option. You can also make a small room where you can put various spa materials. Now you can go to the following steps:

Step 1 – Plan your tiled bathtub layout. The width, depth and length of the tub must be carefully mapped out. Know what tile color you want. Next, plan the plumbing system. Know where you will place the jets, drain pipes, etc. You may want to consult a plumber if you are not an expert in this area. Also consider electrical wiring. You should build the tub where the power source is nearby. You don’t want to use extension cords for this.

Step 2: Now you have to choose a good provider. Choose a reputable manufacturer that will provide necessary parts such as hoses, pipes, spouts, and tiles. If you want to install impressive lights for additional effects, look for a manufacturer that also has this.

Step 3: Dig a hole to the size you want. Subsequently, place a plastic membrane at the bottom and then for concrete. After it has dried, you can now put up walls for your tub. Align the bricks and then the concrete to make it stable enough. Make sure the height is what you originally planned.

Step 4: Now do the steps inside the tub. Lay bricks and make a seating area. Once this is done, you will need to put an outer covering of cement on the bricks.

Step 5: Install the plumbing. Ask an expert on how to do this. They will have to drill holes in all the walls. The connection of the pipes should also be done before installing it. Consult a bathtub wiring specialist to help you with this.

Step 6: Once they are all done, you can now put the finishing touches: the mosaics. Choose the tiles you want. Put cement on the bottom of the time to act as a glue and then place it in the area you want. Follow your design. Add floor lights if you want to make it look better.
