Five tips to help you get motivated to exercise

Everyone wants to develop a great physique, sport ripped abs, and strut their stuff with a slim figure. However, not everyone can bring themselves to do what needs to be done.

This is where psyching yourself up for exercise comes into play.

Get a friend or two

One of the most effective methods to motivate yourself to exercise is to find a partner. Exercising with another person makes it a social event, not just a purely physical activity. You can chat while exercising together, compare each other’s progress, and just hang out with someone while you exercise. You could even bring your special someone to bring you a little closer.

check your progress

Speaking of progress, it also helps to see how far you can go over time. While many people say that exercise is only worth it in the long run, there are many things you can improve over time. Even little things like a firm tummy, growing biceps, or even a slight reduction in waist size are great motivators to exercise.

push the envelope

Progress pays off, and another great way to motivate yourself is to look for bigger and bigger challenges. Increasing the weights in half-pound increments, increasing the tension on the treadmill, or going a few more feet on your jogging run are just a few examples of how you can go the extra mile to stay motivated. Push the envelope and you will find that your body becomes better and stronger.

exercise intensely

An interesting twist to exercise is to really give it all you’ve got. Draw energy from your muscles, twist those joints, and breathe deeply and heavily to increase the intensity of the exercise. This is a great way to make exercise a more energetic and exhilarating process. That and that you really feel like you’re exercising when you exercise intensely.

enjoy the process

While building an incredible body or shedding a few dozen pounds may be enough to motivate you to exercise, you’ll quickly notice the energy drain away from you once you reach your original goals. Learn to enjoy the process of exercising and you’ll find yourself keeping your body in tip-top shape for the rest of your life.

Oh, and one last thing about exercise. It is not only about shaping the body, but also about strengthening the mind and spirit.

Simply getting up and moving your body changes it both biologically and spiritually. Good exercise plus good vitamins and herbs produces a certain sense of peace and satisfaction when you do it right, which is mainly due to the release of endorphins as your body sweats. However, the mere fact that you are doing something to strengthen your body goes a long way toward making you feel more confident about yourself.

So remember to keep exercising and you will find yourself a stronger and more confident person at the end of the day!
